I have known Vernon my entire life. He was my late Uncle Harold Wallace's cousin. I remember him as a kid when I would see him at Mr. Crumley's grocery store and remember that he was always so friendly. Later, we would be reacquainted when I went to work for the Austin Police Department. Even then, I found Vernon to be the same kind person he was when I was a kid. Of course, it goes without saying; Vernon sold me my first handgun at a 'bargain' price (according to him). He loved guns and arrowheads and could talk for hours about both. He will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to Eda and the rest of the family.
