Joe & Camille Street

Our Homer, He was a warm, friendly, kind, loving, and dedicated man who loved his family and friends as well as God’s world. He was fascinated with nature, especially his birds, deer, squirrels, and glorious garden. Homer was more than a neighbor to us. He was a dear friend and family member. We will miss him so much, but will think of him every time we hear a bird tweet or see a flower bloom. We pray for God’s peace and blessings for Saundra and all who loved him. And now, here are some “Homer stories”: For years, deer have delivered their babies around our houses. While Homer was in the rehabilitation facility this summer, a doe gave birth to two fawns. We named them ‘Oscar’ and ‘Homer’. We see them occasionally wandering across Homer’s yard. One morning we arose to find 2 bucks, 4 doe, and Oscar and Homer standing in Homer’s front yard. That was the day he was taken to the hospital with pneumonia. The night after Homer entered Paradise, an owl, behind our adjacent properties, was hooting praise for over an hour. We have not heard the owl in almost a year and have not heard him since. And, as Homer would say, “Praise the Lord!” We are missing you, Joe and Camille Street
