Karen represented the best of public television. Deeply intelligent,thoughtful and caring. We had many conversations about how to improve things so that all our work would be elevated. She was serious in our conversations, but my favorite moments were when I could make her laugh so that I could see that wonderful twinkle in her eyes. Our colleagues at the NCO told me of Karen's passing, and I also want to send my condolences to her family and friends. She was a special spirit. cheryl head
