Thomas Campbell said, "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die". I believe that the short time Mathaus had with his loving family will always bless their hearts and minds, and give them peace. Mathaus himself imparted many lessons to us; to never give up, be joyful in the face of adversity, and love with all of your heart. We can also learn much from those he left behind. The unconditional love that his family always gave to him and each other is inspirational. The ability to hold tight to an ephemeral soul, knowing that you only have him for a brief time, must be the most heart-wrenching thng a family has to do. But the Owens never gave up, never gave in, and loved that little boy with everything they had. Thank you all, for teaching us grace, love, and hope. My thoughts and prayers are with you, hoping that you never forget, but soon find peace.
