When I entered UT Austin, Dr. Dougal took me under his wings and help direct me through my EE degree at UT Austin. He offered me a job in the plasma labs, which gave me a lot of good experience. He encouraged me to be active in professional groups such as IEEE, and I served as the UT student chapter President of IEEE. When I started working at CPS Energy a few years later I kept in touch with Dr. Dougal through the local IEEE chapter. He was a great man and will be missed.
