Wantha Davis was one of the sweetest women I have known. She always had positive regard for everyone and a kind affirming word to brighten our day. Her messages were ones of love, acceptance and affirmation. The ability to extend unconditional regard for others was one of Wantha’s most lovely gifts. Wantha said Yes! to life, always looking at the sunny side of things and counting her blessings. And she adopted all of us as her family. With the leadership of her gentle, loving spirit, Wantha was the matriarch to our extended family, and was like a loving grandmother to our children. We couldn’t wait to share the latest developments in our lives with her as we could count on her to truly delight in our news. When our sons were very young, she invited us to her ranch in Oklahoma, saddled up her horses, and took us all out for an adventurous ride. She was a real American horsewoman. Our sons loved the experience, picking pecans in her yard, and learning to love the out of doors that Wantha shared with us. That time in Duncan she watched our brood while we parents went for a movie. That day, Wantha reported that our youngest son, Kayhan, climbed in her lap and voila! he had another grandma, just like that. It was an experience we will never forget as was Wantha’s love for all of us. My condolences go to Tad, Marina, Sean, Marisa and Lia. Thank you for sharing your beloved Wantha with all of us. I am better for having had Wantha’s love and example in my life for these past 35 years. I know I will always keep Wantha’s love in my heart. Love to you all, Liz Sifuentes
