Obituary for Mary Votaw

Mary Martha Votaw, age 94, of Austin passed away on November 18, 2010. Mary was born in Marshall, TX on October 23, 1916 to Martha and Wallace Votaw. She grew up in Dallas.
Mary took the civil Service exam in Dallas and moved to Washington D.C. to pursue her career working for the CIA. She spent her whole career working in the Pentagon in Washington, DC and retired in 1971. When she retired she moved to Austin to be near her sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Wendell Larson. Her second career in Austin was volunteering for Seton Hospital. She enjoyed this very much. Mary was an avid bridge player and she also traveled extensively.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Wallace Votaw and by her sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Wendell Larson.
Much appreciation is extended to Emeritus at North Austin and Odyssey Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mary.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29th with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Chapel, North Lamar. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
