Obituary for John Emory Johnson

Born in Hutto, TX July 21, 1922 to Ida and Anton Johnson, he was preceded in death by his 6 brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Berkman Johnson, the mother of his children, and his step-son David Lastinger. Emory served in World War II during the D-Day Invasion in the glider corp. After returning from the service he lived in Round Rock and Austin. He was a member of the Round Rock Masonic Lodge #227. He enjoyed his time raising registered hogs at his Double R Hog Ranch.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kinney Johnson, his daughter, Karen Johnson Urelius, his son, Richard (Rick) Johnson and wife, Jan, and step-son Kenneth Lastinger as well as 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17th at Austin Memorial Park in Austin with Pastor Russell Campbell of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Walburg, Texas, conducting the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank Lighthouse Hospice of Marble Falls, TX, particularly Susie Satterwhite and Dr. Peter Gosselink for their care during his illness with pancreatic cancer.
