Obituary for Matt Kocks

Our Cup Runneth Over

Matt Kocks passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was born on July 11, 1967 to Joe and Mary Ann Kocks in Austin, Texas. We were blessed to have Matthew with us, even if only for fourty-five years. He brought to all of us that part of himself that made us each a better person.

Matt graduated from Westlake High School in 1986. He was a cook, baker, pizza maker, and avid musician. He really, really like sports (literally ALL sports) and had become an armchair analyst and coach. Traveling with his brothers was a passion he enjoyed whenever he could. For the past 12 years he worked for Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson LLP. He was always happy to go to work. He felt appreciated, valued, and loved. Matthew never met a stranger. He was full of life and joy.

Matt was our "miracle" and will be desperately missed by his parents (Joe and Mary Ann), brothers (Joe, Mike, and Chris), sisters (Mary and Karen), in-laws (John, Terron, and Heather), nieces (Marianne and Elizabeth), nephews (Joseph, Jacob, and John), his extended family, and his many, many friends.

Take nothing for granted, remember to tell those around you that you love them, take just a little time to spread a little light, but most of all be a friend to someone who needs it. We love you always Matt and wish we could have you back if for just that moment. May you rest in eternal peace and love.
