Richard S. Yañez of Lockhart, Texas passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 after a short illness. He was born April 3, 1938 in Martindale, Texas to Luz and Antonio Yanez. Richard served his country in the US Army.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Victoria; son, Richie; his parents, Luz and Antonio Yañez; brothers, Toby and Rudy.

Richard is survived by his son, Henry; siblings, Minnie Rodriguez and husband Nino, Alice Duran and husband Jesse, Dolores Garcia, Bertha Riojas and husband Felix, Olga Clark and husband Albert, Ray Yañez and wife Mary, Sally Venegas and husband Charles and Robert Yañez and wife Alicia.

Honoring Richard and serving as Pallbearers will be Albert Clark, Charles Venegas, Ray Yañez Jr., Jesse Duran Jr., Albert Riojas, and Anthony Garcia.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 28 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Ave. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 29 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale, Texas. Interment will follow at Santa Maia de Aida Cemetery, Maxwell, Texas
