Condolences

Condolence From: Debbie Roan
Condolence: Dear Mrs. Singleton, When I secured my first administrator position in Austin in 1993, my boss told me to get to know Clay. It was very good advice. Clay was a wonderful resource for me since I do not have an accounting background. We served on several committees together. He loved to play the devils advocate (with a twinkle in his eye). Clay will remain an example for me because of the great memories I have of him. I am so very sorry for your loss. Warmest personal regards, Debbie Roan

Condolence: Clay was such a source of inspiration and grounding, of support and compassion, to our entire family. The world is a better place for his presence here, and I am so sad that he is gone. Bless you, Diane, Kate, and Sarah. Our thoughts are with you.

Condolence: Mr.Singleton was a person I could turn to when I had a problem or needed an ear to listen. He spent countless days visiting me in the hospital when I had a very bad motorcycle accident; and then years later as I suffered a stroke. He encouraged me to not give up, to appreciate what I COULD do and NOT what I couldn't do because of the stroke. I went through many days and nights, countless pity parties, wondering, "why me?", but Clay wouldn't let me feel sorry for myself. He pushed me hard, even helping me with physical therapy. He told me not to ever feel sorry for myself, and to hurry up and get my ASS back to work because he missed me being there. That's the truly genuine and remarkable person that I admired and loved.. I will always cherish and remember what you did for me and how you touched my life. Rest in peace my dear friend one day we shall meet again.

Condolence: I got to know Clay through many different construction projects @ SDMC over the years. I always looked at him as a friend first and associate second. What a great guy! I really got to know him well while I was doing a project @ Brackenridge Hospital and just happened to be in the ER when Kate was brought in after the accident. We spent a lot of time visiting in the ICU waiting area and praying for Kate's full recovery. Kate is truly a miracle and I am looking forward to all that God has planned for her in the future. Clay will be sorely missed, especially his ever present smile. I am just so glad I was able to have lunch with him recently and to visit one last time. Remember, All things work together for good, for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose!

Condolence: I knew Clay as a coach. He was the most inspirational athlete out of the 100's I coached over the years. His drive, determination and sheer grit far surpassed them all. I am sure these traits stayed with him thru the years both personally and professionally. He will be missed.
