Jennie Marie “Jense” Goodwin Pearson, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. She was born on September 2, 1915 in Austin, Texas.

Jense was a graduate of The University of Texas, Class of 1937, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

A lifelong Austinite, Jense was a member of Helping Hand Home for Children, The Austin Woman’s Club, First Baptist Church and the University of Texas Exes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Ethel Goodwin; her husband of 44 years, Forest Simms Pearson; and a daughter, Kay Pearson Harrison.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan Maynard, Patty McDermott and her husband Vince, and Judy Smith and her husband John; son-in-law, Otto Harrison; grandchildren, Matt Harrison and wife Sherri, Doug Harrison and wife Susanna, Mike Harrison and wife Kristen, Lori Polasek and husband Chris, Greg Maynard, Patricia Breland and husband Louis, Alicia Maynard, Elizabeth Maynard, Chris Baldwin and wife Maria, Steve Baldwin and wife Francesca, Lisa McDermott, Mike McDermott and wife Tiffanie, Hunter Smith, and Ryan Smith and wife Jill; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar. Interment will be private.

Honorary pallbearers are Otto Harrison, Vince McDermott, John Smith and Gregory Maynard.
