Obituary for James Bradley Unruh

James Bradley Unruh, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, March 27, 2007. He was born to Clifford G. and Jean H. Unruh, on May 12, 1937 in Red Oak, Iowa. Jim is survived by his daughter, Marsha Taylor and husband David of Houston, Texas; sister, Kathryn Cornelius and husband Aubrey of Spicewood, Texas; granddaughters Catherine and Caroline Taylor of Houston, Texas; nephew, Jeffrey Cornelius and wife Aubrey of Denver, Colorado; niece, Debra Cornelius of Bozeman, Montana; and cousin, Roseanne Rogers and husband Wayne of Fort Worth, Texas. Jim attended Lamar High School in Houston, graduated from Rice University and received his Masters Degree from the University of Kentucky. His career as an electrical engineer with IBM spanned over 30 years. Following retirement Jim taught at ITT Technical Institute and volunteered at Senior.net teaching computer courses. He enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and participating in activities with the model airplane club. He was a devoted member of Hyde Park Baptist Church where he served in many capacities for over 25 years. A memorial service will be held in Austin, Texas on Saturday, March 31, 2007, in the Christ Chapel of Hyde Park Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Forest Park Cemetery (Lawndale) at 2 p.m. in Houston, Texas The family requests that memorial donations be made to The American Heart Association or The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
