Harvey G. Uren passed away on June 17, 2009 at his home in Austin, TX at the age of 76. He was born Feb. 15, 1933 in Iron River, MI., the first son of Arthur and Edna Uren. He married Mary Fisher on Aug. 13, 1955 in St. Paul, MN. He served in the Marine Corps for four years and was stationed in San Diego, CA. Following his military service he attended Northern Michigan College in Marquette, MI. Harvey and Mary moved to Austin in 1984 from Cottage Grove, MN. Harvey worked as an inspector for the Texas State Board of Insurance until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including growing roses, fishing, hunting, walking in the woods, photography and bird watching. He also enjoyed cooking and sampling various wines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Uren and is survived by Mary, his wife of 53 years; daughter, Le Anne Morales and her husband, Luis Morales of Round Rock; brother, Dennis Uren of Chewelah, WA, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation was held on Sunday, June 21, 2009; 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
