Emma Cerda Yocum, 83, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Emma was born on March 8, 1926 in Donna, Texas, the daughter of Rosalio and Maria Handy Cerda. She married Charles Yocum on February 10, 1944 and was a devoted wife for 59 years until his death in 2003. Emma is survived by three sons; two daughters; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and numerous nephews and nieces. Emma's greatest pleasure in life was to share her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all she came in contact with. She was totally selfless and an incredible Christian example to her children and all who knew her. She was a founding charter member of Harvest Time Assembly of God Church currently known as New Life Assembly of god and a founding charter member of Isaiah 61 Ministries. Friends and acquaintances are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel with Pastor Tim Lord officiating. Graveside service and committal will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
