Condolences

Condolence From: Raghu S. Narayan
Condolence: Keith was my first boss, when I joined Monsanto, and what a fine 'first-boss' could anyone ever have. All of us who worked for him used to jokingly remark that we worked in the 'Okamoto University Group'! He was the most unassuming and 'unselfish' supervisor anyone could ever have had and he set the bar for the 'redeeming' qualities of a great supervisor.

Condolence From: Bill and Vivian Latimer
Condolence: Bill worked with Keith at the Monsanto plant in Texas City, Texas. When we moved to Dickinson in 1968, both Keith and Patty welcomed us to the city and the Presbyterian Church there. On moving day into our new home, Patty brought us homemade barbequed chicken and rice to fill the tummy of a tired family. Patty's exuberance and passion for life was complemented by Keith's quiet, steady easy going demeanor. Their home welcomed everyone,

Condolence From: Josephine Fuchs Cornwell
Condolence: Dear Robbie, Carole, and Andy, Our family sends its heartfelt sympathy to you all. The Fuchs' adored your parents. Your mother was always the light of the party and your father, with his gentle wisdom, was very well respected. I remember when our families were going to have a picnic at Monsanto Park. It began to rain very hard. We decided to have the picnic at our home. The doorbell rang and I remember Papa saying, "Every body run quickly to the door, our dear friends, Dr. and Mrs. Okamoto and family are here." That was the day, your mother gave me the recipe to her famous, Okamoto Orange Cookies! I will always remember your father for his great wisdom and knowledge, his tranquil and serene personality, and a man who loved his family. We look forward to seeing you, May 14th. The Fuchs Family

Condolence From: John and Carolyn Kanewske
Condolence: I knew Keith was a smart man, but I did not realize that he had a doctorate! The fact that Keith endured the indignation of the relocation of his family during WW II and then went on to serve in the US military speaks volumes of his character. He was a very peaceful and caring man. I was always welcome in the Okamoto home...whether from Patty offering to feed me a second dinner or Keith inviting me in to watch a ball game. Their door was always open. Keith and Patty have left a wonderfull legacy in their three children and two grandchildren. They are a reflection of the best qualities in Keith and Patty. Keith, you will be missed, but I know that Patty is glad to have you with her again.

Condolence: I would first like to wish your whole family comfort and peice in your time of bereavement. I was over at your house so much that I felt part of the family. It was at your house that I saw my first stereo and heard some off the soft and wonderful musinc that your parents listened to (before we put our stuff on it!) I also remember the lighting along the bottom of the floors that gave sice a safe feel if you got up at night.

Condolence: We have many memories and also recipes from Patty O and Keith. Our favorite was one where my sister had just finished telling all of us about her escape with her husband and children from Lybia during the 7 day war.
