Obituary for Charles M. Isabel Sr.

Charles M. Isabel, Sr., 87, of Austin, Texas lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease Monday, February 21, 2011. He was born near Bartlett on March 18, 1923 to Felix and Leona Isabel.
Charles spent his youth in and around Bartlett until World War II. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in December, 1942. He took his basic training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. He retired October, 1963 at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona.
Charles married Alma May Berry on March 4, 1947 in Waco, Texas. Besides his wife of 63 years, survivors include one son, Charles M. Isabel, Jr. and wife Diana. Three grand-daughters, Kristi Miranda and husband Jose; Heather Tucker and husband Mike, and Kimberley Jaso and husband Chris. Great grandchildren, Trenton Isabel, Travis Roberts, Trevor Roberts, Riley Tucker, Lyndsey Aaron, Tresalyn Roberts and Sophie Miranda. Two sisters, Doris Bender of Ohio and Wanda Cantrell of Mississippi and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. The Reverend Ronnie Dyer, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Elroy will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be his great grandsons and his grandsons-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
