Condolences

Condolence From: Keith Rees
Condolence: Hello Lee Ann, I'm sorry I am so late in hearing this, I am very saddened and deeply sorry for your loss, almost a year ago now. Eric and I were good friends at La Tech and I remember visiting with him when he first graduated and moved to Austin. I had moved away for a short while and when I came back he had moved from his apartment, so I lost contact with him. I feel bad that we lost contact, he was such a good friend. Just wanted you to know that he is greatly missed and was a wonderful guy, the memories I have of him at Tech are all great ones. God bless you and your son.

Condolence: I didnt know Eric but I do know the pain that this must be causin your family that is why I wanted to share some comforting thoughts from the bible. First there is the promise of a resurrection of both the just and unjust ones found at Acts24:15. Also at John 5:28 it tells us that all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice(Jesus Christ) and come out. So we see death is only temporary and in Is.25:8 he (God) promises to swallow up death forever. I hope that these scriptual thoughts can offer you some form of comfort in this time of your lost. If you have any question or just want to talk feel free to contact me.

Condolence: Words are of little comfort right now but know that your loving husband is remembered. He was, as you know, a kind, caring and thoughtful person. You and your son are in my prayers.

Condolence: When we heard the news of Eric’s passing, both Jeff and I were extremely saddened. We both have memories of him that brought smiles to our faces. Jeff remembers running track with Eric. He remembers that Eric was a much better runner than probably everyone else on the team, but you would never know it. He always had an encouraging word for his teammates. He was not boastful and he was not conceited, but the number of blue ribbons that he won, tells the true story of his skill. He was always very quiet, very kind, and very fast. It seemed that he could also run forever and his pace never seemed to change. I have a similar but slightly different memory of Eric. I remember him being very quiet, and always paying attention in class. He was very smart, and I remember getting notes from him when I missed something or did not understand. His notebooks were always neat and organized which I am sure benefitted his chosen career as an engineer. He was pretty shy, but always took the time to talk. I remember being named Terrier of the Month with him and taking our picture out by the school sign. Neither Jeff nor I kept up with him after high school, but I’m sure given his demeanor in his early years, he became a well respected adult. I can only imagine the pain his wife and his son are going through right now, but I hope that these words, spoken from the heart, will give them both a measure of peace.
