Rita Therese LaValle, age 85, of Austin passed away on Wednesday, March 16 after a prolonged illness. She was born on November 22, 1925 to Walter and Hattie Misiora in Chicago, Illinois, and relocated to Austin, Texas with her now deceased husband, Angelo LaValle in the mid-1980's. Her interests included reading and collectibles. Prior to her illness she was a member of both the St. Edwards University and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic communities.
She is survived by her son, Gregory LaValle and wife, Theresa; her daughter, Carmella Chapman and husband Wayland; sister, Virginia Jakubczak; brothers, Norbert and Ernie Misiora.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Queen of Peace Chapel, St. Edwards University, with Reverend Harold Essling, C.S.C. officiating. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
