Condolence: I am only today finding out about the passing of Dr. Overton. I worked with Dr. Overton for many months throughout the last year during his multiple medical issues. I found him (and his family) a complete joy to work with! I was told that I had the knack of getting a smile out of him when no one else could, however, I think it was simply because he was a good man. I will miss him greatly.

Condolence: My husband ,Marvin Light,was a patient of Dr. Overton's for several years in the sixties and through the seventies. He was truely a "Doctor" in every sense. Marvin is deceased now. His family will never forget the care and concern Dr. Overton showed toward him and his family..Our sencere thoughts Virginia Light

Condolence: Thank you, Phil, for your service to our country.

Condolence: I was a patient of Dr M C Overton in Lubbock back during WWII when doctors were scarce in the Panhandle. He took out my tonsils after my mother drove from Pampa to Lubbock--the closest doctor she could find. My grandparents lived in Amherst and thought Dr Overton was the greatest! I have his book and referred to it often when raising my own children. Many years later I discovered Dr Phillip Overton here in Austin and went to him for several orthopedic problems. We talked about his grandfather in Lubbock!

Condolence: At one time our families owned a ranch in West Texas together. Phil's mother gave me a wedding shower years ago,and I went to Phil as a patient in later years. Know that we are saddened to hear of Phil's passing. He was such a fine doctor. Know that your family is in our prayers at this time.

Condolence: All our love and great memories of "Fun with Phil". Our legs,ankles,knees and toes will remind us of him often. Love and peace to all of you.
