Condolences

Condolence From: Judith Gerritson Lessard
Condolence: I lost touch with Linda shortly after she moved to Vermont. The last time we spoke she was so happy there and growing her own everything. I am happy to hear of her wonderful life and all of her children and grandchildren.

Condolence: Linda was my cousin (my father's sister's daughter). Although I hadn't seen or heard from her since 1976, I remember her well from my childhood - how I looked up to her, her feisty attitude, her willingness to argue for her beliefs, and her intelligence.

Condolence: As a close friend of Linda's since college, I have many memories of her, in particular, of her great sense of humor when handling adversities. After earning a Master's degree for her thesis on changes in amino acid concentration in the eye in cataract formation, she became a fascinating high school teacher in Newton, MA,, later in Columbia, Md, and then in Vermont. She would get intestines and other organs from a butcher for students in her class to cut open and study. When Meg Bunow's husband died in the mid-1990's, Linda and I formed an e-mail group with Meg and sent e-mail messages to each other every week. This e-mail group grew to include other friends of ours and still survives.
