Condolence: I was just in Chicago thinking of Mari. I thought I'd look her up since that was the last place I had contact with her. We were in the Atlantic Theater Company together. I am heartsick to know she was right here in Austin, so close. I missed reconnecting. But, with Mari I suppose connection is never lost. She has a pull on everyone she meets - even now. A New York friend just sent me the YNN link. Still performing at the last, still discharging her duty as an artist to bring the human soul to the stage. What a gift to us all!

Condolence: Mari was sweet, good and beautiful. i remember her fondly from the Get Me High Lounge days in Chicago. Mari was vibrant and so good to be around. I really loved her.

Condolence: What a great honor for me it was to cross your path on Earth. I would watch your work and talents and incredible energy on the stage while I waited for my entrance from the sidelines, when we worked at La Jolla Playhouse and you never ceased to amaze me. It was a delight to see your work and to hear your delightful raspy voice in songs and to know you as the passionate, intelligent, enterprising and political person and great human being that you were.
