Obituary for Evaline Wilma Gregerson Vier

Evaline Wilma Gregerson Vier passed away peacefully on December 7, 2011, in Austin, Texas. She was 91 years old. She was born to Hope Norton Gregerson and Edward Gregerson in Ellsworth, Wisconsin on December 30, 1919, the oldest of six children. She married Arnold Vier on April 17, 1942, who passed away in June of 1973. They lived in Hudson, Wisconsin, where they raised their three children. She moved to Austin, Texas in 1977 to be near her son and his family.
Evaline was an excellent seamstress from an early age. In Austin she was employed by London Fabrics for 17 years, becoming one of their longest term employees.
Evaline enjoyed people and nothing gave her more pleasure than socializing with friends. She especially enjoyed children, and took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Having survived many physical challenges through the years, she remained resilient. She lived independently until recent months, involved with her family and friends until the last. She was a much loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Evaline was predeceased by her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her sister Laurel Nelson; brother Galen Gregerson and wife Jean; her son James Vier and wife Jeanne; daughter Judith Ferguson and husband Charles; daughter Nancy Gilbert and husband Douglas; grandchildren James Gregg Vier, Jr. and wife Julie, Bradford Vier and wife Jennifer, Molly Gilbert, MD. and husband Kevin Bolash, Emily Gilbert Larsen and husband Brian Larsen, MD.; great-grandchildren Evan and Grayson Vier, Max Beck and Penelope Larsen.
Memorial services to celebrate Evaline's life will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd.
