Col. Douglas P. Hyatt, US Army (Ret) of Austin born February 7, 1926 passed away from this life January 30, 2012. He served in the US Marine Corps for two years followed by 31 year career in the Army. For more than fifty years he was a loving husband to his wife, Dorothy who preceded him in death. Together they enjoyed extensive travels, which continued after his retirement. He also enjoyed good barbecue and reading books by Louis L'Amour.
Douglas is survived by his son, Ron Hyatt of Dallas; grandson, Brian Hyatt and wife Sara; daughter, Rhonda Hyatt of Austin; granddaughter, Jessica Campbell, MD and husband David of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren, David Austin and Chloe; sister, Pearl English of Seguin; brother, Donald Hyatt of Stockdale.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio with Full Military Honors.
