Condolences

Condolence From: Colleen Mathews Mehner
Condolence: Thanks to Bruce and Peggy, I graduated from UT. When I was 16, they became our neighbor moving next door to my parents, Fern and Dick Mathews. Being our neighbor ontill Douglas was in school. What stories, adventures, good and challenging times we did have. For me, Bruce and peggy are family by choice. I hold Bruce in my heart.

Condolence From: Kathleen Redfearn
Condolence: We count Bruce among one of the greatest men we had the pleasure of knowing. He is now in the company, of two other great men we all knew. "Uncle Paul" Mehner, and our own father "Red" Redfearn. All three of these men represented to the world what real men should look like. It is always a sad day, when we lose someone we hold so dear. However, the legacy of great men like Bruce live on; affecting our world in such beautiful ways. Men like Bruce are shining examples to the world what kindness, meekness, and humility are. The wondeful family he raised with his beautiful wife, Peggy. Toegether they spread goodness, and fond memories we will always hold dear to our hearts.
We pray, for Gods blessings on this beautiful family, and all the comfort only God can give.
" For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now. Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies. -Romans 8:22-23
Respectfully,

Condolence From: Jim Sherrill
Condolence: What a great man. Growing up as a friend of Dougs, Bruce (and Peggy) made me feel welcome every time I was in the Johnston home. Bruce had such an easy going personality and fun sense of humor and yet he had genuine interest for how I (or anyone else) was doing or what might be going on. He was a patient tutor to me while I struggled with college physics and calculas. He was also a great role model of a father and husband. I am appreciative of the great memories I have of such a special person. My thoughts and prayers are with Peggy, Doug, Laura, David and all the extended family and close friends. - Jim Sherrill
