Condolence: Betty, I know that you all are gathering today to remember Tip, and wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. You'll surely miss Tip, and I am so sorry for your loss, but know how relieved you and your family must be that his ordeal is over, as we feel the same way now that mom (Joanne) is at rest. You were a brave sojourner with us, and I am very grateful your kindness to daddy (Ben) and me in the past year.

Condolence From: John Irwin
Condolence: I spent almost as much time in their house as I spent in my own when I was a kid (possibly more), so I know Mr. Tipton was a good man and will be greatly missed.
My deepest sympathies

Condolence: Tip and Betty lived across the street from us in Murphy. He was a grandfather figure to our girls and has known my youngest since she was born. I could always set my watch by him, I would see his little blue and white truck pull into the drive way every day at the same time. When they moved back to Austin and we also moved shortly thereafter, several of the neighbors said that they knew we couldn't live there the Tipton's across the street, how true. This wonderful man will be missed by the Rea Family. Our hearts go out to the family.

Condolence: I completely agree with the other comments regarding Tip's congeniality and great personality. I worked with him in the Center for Space Sciences(CSS) at UTD for many years. Tip was a very proficient electrical engineer. His specialty was designing power supply and high voltage circuits for scientific satellite instruments. Circuits that he designed are still in use and are presently in orbit on several Air Force and NASA satellites. Among his accomplishments is his contribution to the development of an innovative new scientific instrument for measuring the direction of the neutral wind in the earth's lower ionosphere. This anemometer is currently flying on the Air Force Communications Outage Forecast satellite(CNOFS) and is one of the instruments planned for flight on a NASA Small Explorer satellite.
Tip was a good friend to several of us who still are associated with UTD. We have missed having his technical assistance for some time now, and now we are saddened to lose him completely. We are heartened, though, by many good memories.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of Tip's family and friends.

Condolence: I cannot think of Tip without thinking of his great laugh. He had that smile that always made you wonder what he was up to, but the laugh came often and easily. I miss having the Tipton's near us. We have all been through so much over the years. The Tip I knew would want his family to keep making plans and continue to enjoy life. The family I know will do just that. Love you guys. Cindy and I will try to make it on Friday if our court schedules can be shifted.

Condolence: I was Tip's physical trainer for a short time. While it was only a few months, it was a great pleasure getting to work with such a gentlemen. He was always smiling and make laugh. I also discovered that he was a bit competitive when I was trying to find a way to encourage him to increase his holding time while doing squats. I would do it with him and if I showed that I was getting tired, that was enough to inspire him to hold it just a little bit longer. His humor was always there and amplified especially when I made note that not only did he beat me, but he beat Betty as well.
He was a very sweet and kind soul.
